Strategy Proposes Daily Dividends on Its Preferred Stock

Strategy MSTR, the bitcoin treasury company, proposed paying daily dividends on its four U.S.-listed preferred securities, STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. Every calendar day, including weekends and holidays, would be a record date, with payment on the next business day. Annual dividend amounts wouldn't change, only how often they're paid. Strategy shares were up 1.43% in premarket.

For STRC, the $9.3 billion flagship with a 12% variable dividend, that means moving from semi-monthly payments to daily. STRF, STRK and STRD would go from quarterly to daily. Strategy argues that shortening the gap between dividend entitlement and payment will steady prices, noting that STRC's median ex-dividend drop fell 27% after its switch from monthly to semi-monthly payouts. Its stated goal is for STRC to trade at $99 to $100 over time, and it likens the daily accrual to that of money market funds.

Shareholders will vote at a special meeting targeted for October 28. If approved, STRC would switch on November 1 and the other three on January 1, 2027.
